GeoDesign’s related specialty services encompass pile load testing, geophysics, pavement design, methane testing and design, and three-dimensional computer modeling. Our experience includes transportation and infrastructure; residential, commercial, and industrial developments; and recreational, educational, and institutional projects.

GeoDesign specializes in providing geotechnical services throughout the design process—from preliminary studies that assist in site selection and facility layout to comprehensive geotechnical investigations that provide the geotechnical information necessary for permitting, design, and construction. Our experience features building and infrastructure projects; landslide evaluation, stabilization, and monitoring; ground motion studies; seismic evaluations and upgrades; soil improvement methods; tunneling and micro-tunneling; geotechnical instrumentation; and geotechnical construction observation services that include specialized deep foundation testing.
Our environmental team offers comprehensive consulting services, including site characterization, risk assessment, compliance, design, and remediation. Providing service to private and public sector clients, we routinely conduct multi-media investigations to assess potential impacts from sources such as industrial centers, agricultural and dry cleaning facilities, service stations, underground storage tanks, and landfills. We have also been involved in regional hazard studies, as well as policy and program development, for public agencies and private corporations. Our services cover Phase I and II environmental site assessments; hazardous materials surveys; subsurface investigations; RCRA Facility Investigations (RFIs); Superfund sites; brownfields; remedial investigations and feasibility studies; remediation system design and implementation; landfill studies; and engineering design of methane mitigation systems for landfills and buildings in designated methane zones.
Comprehensive in-water services are offered through our wholly owned subsidiary, Benthic LLC. This work includes in-water reclamation and remediation, sampling analysis and plans, sediment sampling and characterization, dredge volume calculations, dredge material disposal determinations, and permitting and compliance.
Our geological consulting services support projects ranging from roadway slope instability to large-scale, deep-seated landslides. In addition, we assist in the development of regional hazard mitigation planning with local and state agencies that encompasses the full range of geologic hazards. Our geologists, engineering geologists, and engineers collaborate to complete site investigations, evaluate seismic hazards threatening planned or existing structures, and develop remedial alternatives. Our holistic approach considers permitting issues, environmental impacts, longevity, and reliability in developing alternatives that compare risk, factor of safety, and cost.
We work closely with our clients to provide cost-conscious pavement recommendations within project and budgetary limits. Our engineers blend our extensive experience with the latest pavement theory to provide solutions for the design, maintenance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of roadways, airfields, bridges, and parking lots. We use our Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) to perform non-destructive deflection testing for assessing pavement strength and longevity. Based on our strict quality control guidelines, our FWD is operated and calibrated according to the required local, state, and federal standards. Additionally, we offer advanced laboratory testing, such as resilient modulus testing on subgrade, to determine site-specific material parameters used in design.
